The parent company of Anthem Health Plans of New Hampshire serves approximately 35 million medical members through its Blue Cross or Blue Cross and Blue Shield operations in 14 states and its non-Blue branded operations in other states. The company has over 42,000 associates nationwide and is the largest publicly traded commercial health benefits company in the United States and an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. Though headquartered in Indiana, we maintain strong local presence in all the states we serve. 700 associates are based at the company's offices in Manchester, NH, where it has been located since 1993 (previously in Concord, NH).

Accreditations/Awards
Ranked among the nation's top 50 health plans by NCQA and U.S. News and World Report. Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in New Hampshire has attained "Excellent" accreditation status by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) in the quality organization's first-ever regional accreditation review. The "Excellent" rating, the highest available, is a three-year accreditation reserved for managed care plans that provide access to the highest levels of care and service, and whose clinical and administrative systems far exceed NCQA's rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement. In March 2008, Fortune magazine released its annual "Most Admired" rankings and Anthem's parent company is listed No. 2 among companies in the health insurance sector. In addition, Angela Braly, President and CEO of Anthem's parent company, appeared on Fortune's October 2007 tenth annual list of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Business. In naming her to the list for the first time, Fortune notes that Ms. Braly heads the largest company run by a woman, and states that its 2007 list "boasts new heights of achievement--the credentials of these women are the strongest yet." Fortune ranked these women at for-profit companies based on the size, importance, and health of their business in the global economy; career momentum; and social and cultural influence.
