PreferredOne

Established in 1984, PreferredOne held the distinction of being one of the largest Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs) in the upper Midwest. PreferredOne's PPO service area extends throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, and Michigan.

In 1994, PreferredOne Community Health Plan (PCHP) was formed. PCHP operates as a health maintenance organization (HMO) serving 64 Minnesota counties. PCHP is a non-profit corporation that has consumer members participating on the Board of Directors.

In 1997, PreferredOne Administrative Services, Inc. (PAS) was launched as a Third Party Administrator (TPA). PAS manages group benefits and provides claims processing and other administrative services for employers who self-insure their medical and/or dental benefits and require customized approaches to their health benefit offering.

In 2005 PreferredOne Insurance Company (PIC) was introduced and operationalized, specializing in employer stoploss, group and individual insurance products.
