Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia (BCBSGA) is one of 48 independent Blue Cross and Blue Shield corporations. Founded in 1937, the Company and its subsidiaries provide a comprehensive range of group and individual health benefit, life and disability products to more than 1.8 million Georgians.

In 1999, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia's Preferred Provider Organization, BlueChoice PPO, received full two-year accreditation from the American HealthCare Commission/URAC (Commission/URAC) for its health network and utilization management. This is BCBSGA's second, full two-year accreditation for from AAHCC/URAC.
