About Us
For more than 25 years, Health Alliance Medical Plans has offered quality health coverage. Founded by physicians in 1980, we are the largest managed care organization based in downstate Illinois. Health Alliance covers more than 310,000 lives. Our corporate office is located in Urbana, IL. Health Alliance Midwest, based in Ames, IA, serves our Iowa members.

Our commercial HMO/POS and Medicare HMO accreditation is excellent. Our commercial PPO and Medicare PPO accreditation is full. Excellent accreditation is only awarded to those plans that meet or exceed NCQA's rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement and have Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) results in the highest range of national performance.
