If your employer had at least 20 workers in the previous year and offers a health insurance plan, then yes. COBRA applies to private sector employers and organizations, state and local governments.
The Federal Government, employers who had less than 20 employees, and certain churches are not subject to COBRA. If you work for the Federal Government, you are protected by a different law that is similar to COBRA. You should contact your human resources department.
