  Substance Abuse
 
Substance abuse, also called drug abuse, can be defined as the compulsive or excessive use of habit forming substances leading to addiction, dependence, physical and psychological harm, and/or death.

This may include, the use of stimulants such as tobacco, cocaine, and amphetamines; depressants such as alcohol, sedatives, and opiates; as well as hallucinogens.
